The initial qualifying heats have also taken place at the South Garda Karting Circuit. Further heats will be run on Saturday, September 18th, before the final stages that will be broadcast through the Live Streaming on Sunday, September 19th.

The weekend of the WSK Open Cup has started at the South Garda Karting circuit. This is going to be the first of the two rounds of the series that saw 260 drivers getting on track on Friday and that will reach its conclusion on Sunday, September 19th, when the finalists of the four categories MINI, OKJ, OK and KZ2 will contest the finals after the heats and prefinals.
A total of 50 nations represented.
The WSK Open Cup will continue with the grand finale on October 3rd in Adria that will stage the second and closing round of the series. The International participation is quite important as 50 different nations are represented on track. Poland is leading the top-ten of the foreign countries in terms of entered drivers and it is followed by Russia, Great Britain, France, United States, Holland, Ukraine, Switzerland, Czech Republic and Romania.
The results of qualifying practice.
The Friday qualifying practice saw the Italian Giuseppe Palomba (BirelART Racing/BirelART-TM Racing-Vega) posting the fastest time of KZ2 in 45.512s. He was followed by the fellow-countrymen Danilo Albanese (KR Motorsport/KR-Iame) at 0.058s and Brando Badoer (Parolin Motorsport/Parolin-TM Racing), who despite being at the debut in the category, was among the quickest at just 0.073s from the pole position time.
The fastest time (45.918s) of OK was set by the Italian Luigi Coluccio (Kosmic Racing/Kosmic-Vortex-LeCont) in Session-1, while the Japanese Rintaro Sato (Ricky Flynn/Kosmic-Vortex) was the fastest in Session-2 in 45.965s.
Three sessions were run in OKJ. In this category the American Luis James Egozi (Tony Kart Racing Team/Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega) went quickest in 47.452s in Session-2. He led his teammate from Thailand Enzo Tarnvanichkul, who was the quickest of Session-3 in 47.588s, while the Hungarian Martin Molnar (Revesz/KR-Iame) was the fastest of Session-1 instead.
In the three sessions of MINI, the Italian Davide Bottaro (AV Racing/Parolin-TM Racing-Vega) posted a surprising 52.999s that was the quickest overall and of Session-1. The Austrian Niklas Schaufler (Emme Racing/EKS-TM Racing) was the fastest of Session-2 in 53.132s, while the Spaniard Christian Costoya (Parolin Motorsport/Parolin-TM Racing) led the charts of Session-3 in 53.339s.

The initial qualifying heats have taken place on Friday for all the categories and these brought some changes on top. In the first heat of KZ2 the Dutch Stan Pex (KR Motorsport/KR-TM Racing) claimed the win while Giuseppe Palomba was second.
In OK, Luigi Coluccio won the first heat, while Joe Turney (Tony Kart Racing Team/Tony Kart-Vortex) the second one after posting the second overall time in qualifying practice.
Six heats have already been ran in OKJ. The American Luis James Egozi won both heats he took part in, while the other wins went to the French Enzo Deligny, the Brit Freddie Slater, Singapore’s Akshay Bohra and the Hungarian Martin Molnar.
Six heats were also run in MINI. The fastest drivers in practice also managed to win the heats. The winners were in fact the Italian Davide Bottaro, the Austrian Niklas Schaufler and the Spaniard Christian Costoya. The other victories went to the Belgian Dries Van Langendonck and the Italians Emanuele Olivieri and Filippo Sala.
