FINAL SPRINT IN THE WSK EURO SERIES FOR THE LEADERS VERSTAPPEN (NL – CRG-TM KZ1), ZANCHETTA (I - MARANELLO-TM KZ2), BOCCOLACCI (F - ENERGY-TM KF) AND LORANDI (I - TONY KART-PARILLA KFJ).

THE FINAL ROUND IS SCHEDULED IN GENK (B) FROM 30TH MAY TO 2ND JUNE.

THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP NEARLY FINISHED. Last Sunday, on the International circuit Napoli, the first WSK winner of the 2013 season was crowned. It was the Spanish Eliseo Martinez (Hero-LKE-Le Cont), the leader of the 60 Mini cetegory. The WSK leaves Sarno, the venue of the last but one round of the 2013 European championship, with the other standings still very uncertain. Now, for the final round of the European Series organized by WSK Promotion, the world of international karting moves to Belgium, for the fourth and last round, hosted by the Horensbergdam Circuit in Genk, in the Flanders, from 30th May to 2nd June.

VERSTAPPEN IS STILL THE LEADER IN KZ1. The KZ1 leader is Max Verstappen (CRG-TM-Bridgestone) but the weekend in Southern Italy brought poor results to driver whose beginning of season was simply terrific. The Dutch driver had to stop at lap 2 in Final 2 but he can still rely on the victories achieved in the first two rounds of the Series in La Conca (Italy) and Zuera (Spain). Thanks to those successes, Verstappen is steadily at the top of the standings. Behind him the English Ben Hanley (ART GP-TM-Bridgestone), the revelation of 2013, who is ahead of a terrific quartet of top drivers, all ready to battle in the next races in Belgium: the Italian Paolo De Conto (Birel-TM-Bridgestone), the Dutch Bas Lammers (Intrepid-TM-Bridgestone) and Jorrit Pex (CRG-TM-Bridgestone), the Belgian Jonathan Thonon (CRG-Maxter-Bridgestone), all set and ready for the final sprint.

BOCCOLACCI AT THE HEAD OF THE PACK IN KF. The Leader in KF is Dorian Boccolacci (Energy-TM-Vega), very motivated after his victory in Final 2 in Sarno. Behind the French, on the podium, all his die-hard rivals who, not by chance, follow him also in the championship: the Polish Karol Basz (Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega), the runner-up on the Napoli Circuit, is just a step away from the victory which could be a real turning point in his season; the Danish Nicklas Nielsen (Kosmic-Vortex-Vega) was third and before achieving the podium in Final 2 he had succeeded in the Pre-final of Sarno. He, too, can aim at the success in KF. The English Ben Barnicoat (ART GP-TM-Vega) is another driver who stands a good chance for the final standings: he currently occupies the fourth position, but he has the skills and the qualities to close the gap.

ZANCHETTA IS THE UNDISPUTED LEADER IN KZ2. The KZ2 standings is steadily led by the Italian Marco Zanchetta (Maranello-TM-Bridgestone), even though he has to fight hard to fend off his rivals' attacks: Riccardo Negro's hunt for the leadership (DR-TM-Bridgestone) which he started since the beginning of the season is still open and it is now hard to say who is going to win the title. Zanchetta, in Sarno, confirmed this year's curious rule according to which Zanchetta wins in Final 2 on Sunday, always followed by Negro. The latter, however, achieved victory on Saturday, in Final 1, once again. In the last round of Genk, it is likely to see the two drivers achieving inverted results and, consequently, there might be an inversion of the positions in the final standings. In the race towards the podium, the other favourite driver is the Czech Jan Midrla (Birel-TM-Bridgestone), who arrives in Belgium steadily in third position. Also the Italian Francesco Celenta (Energy-TM-Bridgestone) might take part in this final sprint: last Sunday he managed to step onto the podium in the Final 2 of Sarno.

NORRIS DOMINATES IN THE KF JUNIOR. The British Lando Norris (FA Kart-Vortex-Vega) has been showing his top drivers skills since the beginning of season: he is definitely the new name of the KF Junior. The Londoner, so far, has not given his rivals any chance, neither in the races nor in the championship. He arrives at the last appointment of the European championship of Genk as the undisputable leader. Anyway, in the last part of the championship the Italian Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart-Parilla-Vega) managed to threaten Norris' reign: the Italian won, deservedly, Final 2 on the circuit of Sarno. So, the race towards the podium is completed by the English Daniel Ticktum (FA Kart-Vortex), currently third in the championship, followed by another surprising talent: the Italian Leonardo Pulcini (Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega), who seems to be ready to achieve his maiden victory in WSK.
