The WSK Euro Series 2024 crowned its champions

The second and closing round of the WSK Euro Series in Sarno crowned its champions: Scott Lindblom in OK, Jack Iliffe in OKJ, Daniel Miron Lorente in MINI Gr.3, Mason Robertson in MINI Gr.3 U10, Juliusz Ociepa in OKN and Billy Jordan Van Staveren in OKNJ.

The 2024 WSK Euro Series at the International Circuit Napoli in Sarno concluded with exciting and thrilling finals, showcasing a fantastic lineup of drivers. The first round in Franciacorta on June 30th saw a total of 48 nations represented, competing with the leading manufacturers and top teams in the OK, OKJ, MINI, OKNJ and OKN categories.

Following the first round in Franciacorta, the conclusion of the second and final round in Sarno was thrilling and full of surprises compared to the results of the opening race, propelling young talents to the forefront who were able to excel thanks to the incremental scoring system compared to the first round.

The outcome of the final day on Sunday, after the Prefinals and Finals, saw the 2024 WSK Euro Series titles finally awarded to the Scott Lindblom in OK, Jack Iliffe in OKJ, Daniel Miron Lorente in MINI Gr.3, Mason Robertson in MINI Gr.3 Under 10, Juliusz Ociepa in OKN and Billy Jordan Van Staveren in OKN Junior.

OK – A name above all: Lindblom
The Swedish driver Scott Lindblom (#221 Fusion Motorsport/KR-Iame-LeCont) achieved a remarkable clean sweep, both at Franciacorta and Sarno, winning the heats, Prefinal, and Final at both events. This secured him the top spot in the championship with a perfect score of 264 points. In the final at Sarno, an impressive performance also came from the Spanish driver Christian Costoya (#265 Parolin Motorsport/Parolin-TM Kart), who finished second at the finish line, with the Austrian pole-sitter Niklas Schaufler (#268 DPK Racing/KR-Iame) taking third place. In the championship standings, behind Lindblom and Costoya, the third position went to the Swedish driver Oliver Kinnmark (#266 KR Motorsport/KR-Iame).

OKJ – Great feat by Iliffe.
The American Jack Iliffe (#330 Forza Racing/Exprit-TM Kart-Vega) put in a memorable feat after failing to set a time in qualifying due to a starting incident. He fought his way back to sixth place in the heats, won the Prefinal, and pulled off a remarkable victory in the Final, securing the championship title. The English driver Roman Kamyab (#326 Ricky Flynn/LN Kart-TM Kart), who was in contention for the championship after winning at Franciacorta, had reason to be disappointed after being stopped by an accident in the final. The second place in the final went to another American, Devin Walz, Iliffe's teammate. The Italian Filippo Sala (#327 Ricky Flynn/LN Kart-TM Kart) took third place. In the championship, Iliffe and Kamyab occupied the top two positions, with Devin Walz in third.

MINI Gr.3 - Miron Lorente wins the Final and the title.
The MINI Gr.3 category was marked by a rotation of leading drivers, but in the end, it was the Spaniard Daniel Miron Lorente (#552 Team Driver/KR-Iame-Vega), already a winner at Franciacorta, who claimed victory in the final at Sarno and secured first place in the championship. The Polish driver Leonardo Gorski (#534 Tony Kart Racing Team/Tony Kart-Vortex) had won the heats but was forced to retire in the final, while the Prefinal was won by the Italian Julian Frasnelli (#509 BabyRace/Parolin-Iame), who ended up ninth in the final due to a penalty. Behind Miron, second place in a closely contested final went to another Team Driver pilot, the Ukrainian Oleksandr Legenkyi, while third place was taken by the Mexican Santiago Diaz De La Vega (#512 BabyRace/Parolin-Iame). Another BabyRace driver, the American Alessandro Truchot, finished fourth, securing second place in the championship, with Legenkyi finishing third.

MINI Gr.3 U10 - Robertson wins also in Sarno, claiming the Final and the title.
The Scotsman Mason Robertson (#508 BabyRace/Parolin-Iame), winner of the first round at Franciacorta, achieved full success at Sarno as well, with a progression of results from tenth place in qualifying to second place in the heats, followed by victories in both the Prefinal and the Final, securing the championship title. A strong final performance also came from the Italian Niccolò Perico (#501 Energy Corse/Energy-TM Kart), who made a great recovery from the start of the weekend, finishing second in the final and taking second place in the championship. Third place in the final went to Stepan Mazepin (#517 SM Racing/OTK-TM Kart), with the Estonian driver Mark Loomets (#502 Energy Corse/Energy-TM Kart-Vega) finishing fourth after achieving the best result in the heats. Third place in the championship was claimed by Robertson's teammate, the Italian Lorenzo Di Pietrantonio (#503 BabyRace/Parolin-Iame).

OKN - Ociepa wins all.
The Polish driver Juliusz Ociepa (#805 Novalux/Lenzokart-LKE-Vega) dominated the OKN category from the qualifying sessions and the heats, completing his performance with victories in both the Prefinal and the Final. In the concluding race, he defeated the Italian Nicolas Marchesi (#809 Team Driver/KR-Iame), while Marchesi's teammate, the fast Luisa Maria Della Pietra, secured a well-earned podium finish. The winner of the first round at Franciacorta and 2023 champion, the Turkish driver Bati Ege Yildirim (#804 Modena Kart/Parolin-TM Kart), was forced to retire due to a technical issue, finishing second in the championship. Nicolas Marchesi took third place instead.

OKN-J - Eskandari-Marandi wins the Final, Van Staveren the championship.
In the OKN Junior category, there was also a dominant driver over the weekend: the Australian Sebastian Eskandari-Marandi (#704 Ward Racing/Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega), who led from the qualifying sessions to victories in the heats, Prefinal and Final with a significant advantage. However, the championship was won by the Dutch driver Billy Jordan Van Staveren (#734 Modena Kart/Parolin-TM Kart), thanks to his second-place finish in the first round at Franciacorta and his second-place finish in the Sarno Final. In the concluding race, behind Eskandari and Van Staveren, the third spot on the podium went to the Italian driver Bruno Blanco (#705 LA Motorsport/Parolin-TM Kart). In the championship, the Brazilian Antonio Pizzonia Neto (#738 Team Driver/KR-Iame) secured third place.
