QUALIFYING OF WSK SUPER MASTER SERIES.
Qualifying stages of the closing round of the international karting event WSK Super Master Series got underway today in Sarno (I) with 270 drivers coming from 43 different countries. The International Circuit Napoli in Sarno kicked off the final challenge for the classifications of the Series promoted by WSK Promotion. The gaps among drivers aiming to the final victory have been reduced after the previous round: the races held here in Sarno last week opened up in fact several possibilities regarding the final outcome next Sunday when the titles of categories KZ2, OK, OK Junior and 60 Mini will be awarded.

Qualifying today have started the decisive challenges that continued in the afternoon with the first heats. The await is mounting not only in the paddock of Sarno, but also among the fans that will have the chance to watch Prefinals and Finals through the live streaming on Sunday April 8th. The appointment is on the official channel of the wsk.it website and on the WSK Promotion’s facebook page, that will broadcast the racing action from local 10:50 starting with Prefinals.

MATTEO VIGANÒ QUICKEST IN KZ2.
Matteo Viganò (Tony Kart-Vortex-Bridgestone) has made things more complicated for the title contenders, as he managed to be quickest in 56”273s, that was 0.014s faster than the time posted by Lorenzo Camplese (Maranello-TM). Viganò repeated this performance in the first heat, constantly chased by the Finn team mate Simo Puhakka. The first round in the classification quest went to Alex Irlando (Sodi Kart-TM) though, as he came third leading his direct rivals: Marco Ardigò (Tony Kart-Vortex) and Paolo De Conto (CRG-TM), that are the first two on the standings.

ZANE MALONEY LAUNCHES THE CHALLENGE IN OK.
An outsider surprisingly opened the way in OK: the driver from Barbados Zane Maloney (FA Kart-Vortex-Bridgestone) was the quickest of all in 57”194s, pipping the German Hannes Janker (KR-Parilla) by 0.013s. Classification leader from Denmark Nicklas Nielsen (Tony Kart-Vortex), bounced back winning the first heat later on. Janker replied to his win in the next one and put his name forward among the title contenders. The other main interpreters of the category, like the second in the provisional classification Jonny Edgar (Exprit-TM), are expected to bounce back tomorrow though.

OKJ POLE POSITION TO ALFIO SPINA.
The time 58”590s earned the Italian Alfio Spina (CRG-TM-Vega) the pole position in qualifying. He managed to lead Paul Aron (Fa Kart-Vortex) by 0.127s, as the latter completed his best loop in 58”717s. The Estonian driver bounced back promptly winning one of the heats run in the afternoon, while the other was won by Gabriele Minì (Parolin-Parilla), who continues his quest to the top of the classification: the Italian is currently second only one point short of the leader, the Russian Kirill Smal (Tony Kart-Vortex), who had a troubled start and stopped early in a heat.

DIMITRY MATVEEV QUICKEST IN 60 MINI.
Two new names came to the fore in 60 Mini’s qualifying: the quickest was the Russian Dmitry Matveev (CRG-TM-Vega) in 1’06”741s, which was 0.104s clear of the Italian Andrea Filaferro (Birel-TM), who posted a 1’06”844s. Another outsider, the Italian Rocco Mazzola (Italcorse-TM) claimed one win in the heats, as did the current classification leader Martinius Stenshorne (Parolin-TM). The Norwegian driver accused a bit of delay in the heats, but then recovered six places in the race.
