EVENT STREAMED LIVE ON SUNDAY 27TH ON WSK.IT AND THE FACEBOOK PAGE OF WSK PROMOTION.

THE FIRST ROUND OF THE WSK OPEN CUP HAS BEGUN AT SOUTH GARDA KARTING WITH 262 DRIVERS TAKING TO THE TRACK FOR QUALIFYING.

The sun finally came out to shine and dry the circuit after persistent rain during free practice for the first of 2 rounds of the 2019 Series for OK, OK Junior and 60 Mini who will also race again in 2 weeks time at Castelletto di Branduzzo whilst KZ2 compete at the Lonato race only this weekend. A fantastic entry representing 51 nations from 5 continents for this event.

POLLINI ON POLE POSITION IN KZ2.
It was the driver from the nearby city of Brescia who took pole in KZ2 with a time of 47.743 ahead of the driver from Naples Giuseppe Palomba (BirelART-TM) with a 46.912, Frenchman Tom Leuillet (Praga-TM) with 46.967. Pollini also found his old adversary Alessio Lorandi who has gone on to forge a career in single-seater Formula 3 and Formula 2 racing who was fourth quickest aboard his Parolin-TM with a time of 46.976. The first heat raced this afternoon went to Palomba ahead of Lorandi and Pollini.

KIRILL SMAL LEADS IN OK.
The Russian Kirill Smal was fastest in OK qualifying on pole with 47.249 ahead of Brit Joseph Turney in 47.480 with Kajus Siksnelis third with 47.376 (all driving Vortex powered TonyKarts). Smal continued his fine form winning the first heat with Noah Degnbol of Denmark (TonyKart-Vortex) winning the second.

ANDREA ANTONELLI QUICKEST IN OK JUNIOR.
The driver from Bologna was immediately on the attack in OK Junior taking pole position with a time of 48.324. He was followed by Singapore’s Christian Ho with a time of 48.811 (both driving KR-Iame), then the Russian driver Artem Severiukhin (TonyKart-Vortex) with 48.975. It was however Severiukhin who took the first heat win with his countryman Nikita Bedrin winning the next aboard his TonyKart-Vortex.

TSOLOV TAKES POLE IN 60 MINI.
The youngest drivers racing this weekend were also the most numerous at Lonato and at the end of qualifying it was the Bulgarian Nikola Tsolov who took pole position with a time of 53.880. Jan Przrowsky of Poland was second with a time of 54.110 then the Austrian Kiano Blum with 54.219. In the three heats raced, Tsolov, Blum and Emirati Rashid Al Dhaheri took a win apiece (all driving Parolin-TM-Vega).
