The circuit changed but figures are still as high as in the opening round of the championship in Lonato: 250 drivers already entered the second round to be held in Adria. Classifications are still open to all results thanks also to the increased points scoring scheme for the second round.
Adria (ITA), 27.09.2021
The Adria Karting Raceway is gearing up ahead of the second round of the WSK Open Cup that is packed after the opening round in Lonato. The provisional entry list already counts 250 drivers for the event that will get underway in the weekend of October 3rd. MINI is already full with 108 drivers!
After the opening round held in Lonato, the classifications of all categories – MINI, OKJ, OK and KZ2 – are open to all results due also to the increased points scoring scheme as the winner could get up to 153 points, which is 50% more than in Lonato.
The situation after the opening meeting in Lonato.
The Italian driver Emanuele Olivieri (Formula K Serafini/IPK-TM Racing-Vega) is leading MINI with 89 points, thanks to the victory in the final in Lonato. The Austrian Niklas Schaufler (Emme Racing/EKS-TM Racing) won Prefinal-A and is currently second at 81 points, while the Czech Jindrich Pesl (BabyRace/Parolin-Iame) follows at 73 points. The two latter drivers got on the podium in the first round.
The American Luis James Egozi (Tony Kart Racing Team/Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega) won the OKJ final in Lonato and is currently leading the classification with 91 points. He is chased by the two other protagonists of the first round: the Brit Harley Keeble (Tony Kart Racing Team/Tony Kart-Vortex), who stands at 84 points and United Arab Emirates’ Rashid Al Dhaheri (Ippoliti Racing Team/KR-Iame) at 71.
A nice battle is ahead also in OK, where the expert British driver Joe Turney (Tony Kart Racing Team/Tony Kart-Vortex-LeCont) is leading the pack with 101 points. The Finn Tuukka Taponen (Tony Kart Racing Team/Tony Kart-Vortex) follows him at 78 points and the other Brit Arvid Lindblad (KR Motorsport/KR-Iame) is third at 60 points. These three drivers can all aim to the final victory.
The situation in KZ2 is quite open too. The winner of Lonato, the Dutch Senna Van Walstijn (CPB Sport/Sodikart-TM Racing-Vega) is currently on top at 99 points, that is just 9 more than his fellow-countryman Stan Pex (KR Motorsport/KR-TM Racing). The third place is currently occupied by Van Walstijn’s teammate from France Adrien Renaudin, who rounded off the podium in Lonato and totaled 40 points.
