READY FOR A THRILLING FINAL OF THE WSK. A 'hot' racing day has just finished in Sarno. On the International Circuit Napoli, drivers fought inch by inch in the heats and are now ready for tomorrow's thrilling final phase of the WSK Master Series ast its second round. There are great expecations for gripping races after today's KZ2 Final 1, eventful and uncertain till the last lap. This race and all the highlights of the whole weekend are available on the WSK TG dedicated section of the www.stopandgo.tv specialized website.
DE CONTO ATTACKS AND WINS IN KZ1. Ben Hanley (ART GP-TM-Bridgestone) was ready and focused for what it was supposed to be his big day in KZ2: but the English driver, who started from the pole position in Final 1 after winning both his heats, had to cope with the biggest names of the category, who waited until the final to put in their best performance. So, after the tussle at the start of the race, during the first laps it was Marco Ardigò (Tony Kart-Vortex-Bridgestone) who led the race. The Italian driver, anyway, did not manage to keep the leadership for a long time, closely pursued by another Italian driver, Paolo De Conto (Birel-TM-Bridgestone), who in few laps managed to seize the lead. Behind the leader, the struggle for the runner-up position was breath-taking and Ardigò, for a while, seemed to have the upper hand. De Conto kept the leadership and crossed the finishing line first: it was his maiden victory with Birel. The climax of the race was reached during the last lap thanks to Hanley and Ardigò. A contact between the two slowed down the English driver, who dropped back to 11th position, while Ardigò was not as unlucky and only lost two positions. So, the Italian driver was passed by Charles Leclerc (ART GP-TM-Bridgestone) from Monaco and the Dutch Jorrit Pex (CRG-TM), who occupied the other two steps of the podium: a good result indeed, given that they both started from the 4th row of the grid.
POLE POSITION FOR BOCCOLACCI IN KF. The French Dorian Boccolacci (Energy-TM-Vega) achieved three victories in the heats: he had the upper hand on the Polish Karol Basz (Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega), who won. Boccolacci is still in peak form and will start from the pole position in tomorrow's Pre-final. Next to him, his rival of Tony Kart.
IN THE 60 MINI MARSEGLIA IS IN POLE. The first, prestigious result in WSK was achieved by the Italian Leonardo Marseglia (Top Kart-Parilla-Le Cont), who clinched the pole position for the Pre-Final at the end of a series of heats where he won twice. Next to him, in the front row, Makar Mizevich (Tony Kart-LKE-Le Cont).
LORANDI AND NORRIS, A POLE EACH IN KF JUNIOR. Lando Norris (FA Kart-Vortex-Vega), from London, and Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega), from Salò - a Northern Italian town near Brescia-, achieved the pole positions in the A and B Pre-Finals which will open tomorrow's final phase of the event. They both put in an outstanding performance: they won three heats each. The difference lies in the third place achieved by the Italian driver in the fourth heat, while the English only got a fifth.
