The opener of WSK Super Master Series held at the Adria Karting Raceway named the first protagonists of the three categories OK, OK-Junior and Mini. The much awaited debut of KZ2 will take place in the next round, scheduled for February 23rd 2020 in Lonato. This will complete the full picture of the 15th edition of the WSK Promotion season.
The Super Master Series has confirmed to be in a great shape, as its drivers, in Adria. The main constructors and drivers on the International scene were present for a total of 231 karting racers coming from 40 countries and 5 continents.
The level of the competition has been high on track and the spectacle offered has been top class since qualifying heats, before topping up with the fight for the victory in the three finals.
Hiltbrand gets the lead of OK.
In OK the first position is currently occupied by the Spaniard Pedro Hiltbrand on Tony Kart-Vortex-Bridgestone run by the official Tony Kart Racing Team. He won the final after a tough start in qualifying when he struggled to P36. The Spanish driver bounced back in the heats (P10) and in Prefinal-B when he climbed up to P3. The final victory earned him 50 points that placed the Spanish driver on top of the classification at 61 points. Behind him, his teammate from Britain Joe Turney totaled 49 points. He won Prefinal-B and put in a bold performance, but had a contact towards the end of the final race ending sixth after leading most of the race. The Brit Taylor Barnard (KR-Iame/Rosberg Racing Academy) is third in the standings at 43 points. He was second in the final after a great comeback race. The fourth and fifth positions are currently held by the winner of the heats from Russia Kirill Smal (Energy-TM Racing/Energy Corse) at 39 points, and the Australian James Wharton (Parolin-TM Racing/Parolin Racing Team), who won Prefinal-A.

Spina leading OKJ.
The new protagonist of OK-Junior is undoubtedly Alfio Andrea Spina (KR-Iame-Vega/KR Motorsport), who won the final in Adria after securing the WSK Champions Cup at the end of January 2020 in Adria. The points collected at the end of the heats, with the victory of Prefinal-A and final placed Spina on top of the classification at 88 points. He enjoys a solid margin on his rivals, but a lot of them proved they can fight for the top. Among these, the Pole Karol Pasiewicz (Tony Kart-Vortex/Tony Kart Racing Team) won Prefinal-B and ended the final in P4 after leading most of the race. He is currently second in the standings at 54 points. The American Ugo Ugochukwu (Kosmic-Vortex/Ricky Flynn) also put in a strong performance. He has always been among the quickest and is currently third at 44 points thanks to the second place in the final following the penalty handed to the Brit Arvid Lindblad. The latter has been shining in the heats on his KR-Iame/KR Motorsport, but slipped down to P7 in the final due to a 3s time penalty. He totaled 39 points and now leads another strong driver like Singapore’s Christian Ho (KR-Iame/Sauber Karting Team), who was promoted to third by Lindblad’s penalty.

This earned them the top two in the provisional classification, where they stand at 78 and 69 points. Several other young drivers have also been shining as the Japanese Berta Kean Nakamura (KR-Iame/Team Driver), who is third in the classification at 36 points thanks to the win in Prefinal-A and despite retiring from the final when fighting for the top. The young French Jimmy Helias (Tony Kart-Vortex/Tony Kart Racing Team) crossed the finish line in third place at the end of a good comeback race and currently stands fourth in the classification at 30 points, that is equal with the Russian German Foteev (Energy-TM Racing/Energy Corse), who was on top after the heats.
