Adria (ITA), 28.11.2020
The Prefinals at the Adria Karting Raceway have kicked off the final sprint to the WSK Open Cup in an intense racing day that defined the starting grid of the finals of Round 1 and Round 2 to be run on Sunday, November 29th. This appointment will award the titles of KZ2, OK, OKJ and MINI.

The results of the Prefinals of Round 1
OK. In the OK Prefinal of Round 1 the British driver Taylor Barnard (Rosberg Racing Academy/KR-Iame-Bridgestone) took an early lead after finding his way past the poleman Andrey Zhivnov (Team Komarov/Tony Kart/TM Racing) who eventually ended the race behind him in P2. The third place went to the fast Finn Niklas Pirttilahti (Forza Racing/Exprit-TM Racing.)

KZ2. In KZ2 surprises did not go missing, not really regarding the winner from Holland Senna Van Walstijn (CPB Sport/Sodikart-TM Racing-Vega) who claimed a strong win, but for the missed duel with the other protagonist of the weekend Stan Pex (KR Motorsport/KR-TM Racing), as the latter lost several places and closed his effort in P8. Danilo Albanese (KR Motorsport/KR-Iame) was second, while Viktor Gustafsson (Leclerc by Lennox/BirelART-TM Racing) was third.

OKJ. The fight for the victory of Prefinal-A of OK-Junior has been very exciting. At the end, the Pole Karol Pasiewicz (BirelART/BirelART-TM Racing-Vega) led the Brit Arvid Lindblad (KR Motorsport/KR-Iame-Vega) and the Italian Sebastiano Pavan (KR Motorsport/KR-Iame), who completed a good recover. Prefinal-B has been even more hard-fought until when the Brit Freddie Slater (Ricky Flynn/Kosmic-Vortex) and Tymoteusz Kucharczyk (BirelART-TM Racing) pulled a little away and the latter secured the win in the closing meters. Ugo Ugochukwu (Sauber Karting/KR-Iame) retired from the Prefinal instead.

MINI. Prefinal-A of MINI lived a spectacular four-way arrival and the Italian Emanuele Olivieri (Formula K Serafini/IPK-TM Racing-Vega) took the win from the Peruvian Andres Cardenas (Energy Corse/Energy-TM Racing), while the Japanese Kean Nakamura-Berta (Team Driver/KR-Iame) and René Lammers (Baby Race/Parolin-Iame) had to settle for P3 and P4 after being on top nearly until the end. Several drivers also fought for the win in Prefinal-B. The victory went to the Pole Maciej Gladysz (Parolin Racing/Parolin-TM Racing-Vega), who was followed by the Asian Tiziano Monza (Saber Karting/KR-Iame), the Thai Enzo Tarnvanichku (Energy Corse/Energy-TM Racing) and the Russian Gerasim Skulanov (Formula K Serafini/IPK-TM Racing), who completed a good recovery race. Aleksandar Bogunovic (Gamoto/Tony Kart-TM Racing) secured a great fifth place. The Polish poleman Jan Przyrowsky (AV Racing/Parolin-TM Racing) did not finish the race.

The results of the Prefinals of Round 2
OK. The Brit Taylor Barnard (Rosberg Racing Academy/KR-Iame-Bridgestone) dominated also the Prefinal valid for Round 2, leaving not much space to the others. The fight for the virtual podium has been tight and the Finn Tuukka Taponen (Tony Kart Racing/Tony Kart-Vortex) eventually crossed the finish line in second place, while Marcus Amand (VDK Racing/KR-Iame) proceeded the Italian Lorenzo Travisanutto (Parolin Racing/Parolin-TM Racing), the Swede Norton Andreasson (Ward Racing/Tony Kart-Vortex), the Bulgarian Nikola Tsolov (DPK Racing/KR-Iame) and the other Italian Brando Badoer (KR Motorsport/KR-Iame).

KZ2. In the KZ2 Prefinal of Round 2 the Dutch Stan Pex (KR Motorsport/KR-TM Racing-Vega) bounced back and claimed a good win, but he has been chased all the way to the flag by the Swede Viktor Gustafsson (Leclerc by Lennox/BirelART-TM Racing), while the third place went to the French Tom Leuillet (Praga Racing/Praga-TM Racing). The fourth place was taken by Danilo Albanese (KR Motorsport/KR-Iame), who led Leonardo Marseglia (BirelART-TM Racing) and the Dutch Senna Van Walstijn (CPB Sport/Sodikart-TM Racing).

OKJ. The British driver Arvid Lindblad (KR Motorsport/KR-Iame-Vega) got the lead in the closing laps of Prefinal-A of OKJ, but he lost it in the heat of the final laps. Freddie Slater (Ricky Flynn/Kosmic-Vortex) made the most of it, after climbing up from the back and he secured P1 leading the Norwegian Martinius Stenshorne (Leclerc by Lennox/BirelART-TM Racing) and Lindblad at the flag. The fourth place went to the Pole Karol Pasiewicz (BirelART Racing/BirelART-TM Racing), the fifth to Rashid Al Dhaheri (Parolin Racing/Parolin-TM Racing), while the Pole Timoteusz Kucharczyk (BirelART/RK-TM Racing) was seventh after fighting for the win. Prefinal-B was initially led by the Italian Manuel Scognamiglio (Gamoto/Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega), but then the Brit Maxwell Dodds (Energy Corse/Energy-TM Racing) found his way past him and took the win from Scognamiglio to Alex Powell (KR Motorsport/KR-Iame) that battled for the position until the flag.

MINI. Prefinals of Round 2 of MINI have also been very exciting.
