THE SECOND ROUND IS BEHIND THE CORNER: THE APPOINTMENT IS IN LONATO (BS) FROM FEBRUARY 21ST TO 24TH.
CHALLENGING THE WSK CLASSIFICATION LEADERS.
The first round of WSK Super Master Series has defined the initial classifications of OK, OK Junior and 60 Mini last Sunday at the Adria Karting Raceway. Points have been scored at the end of qualifying heats on Saturday and after Prefinals and Finals on Sunday: three are therefore the chances to collect some points in each racing weekend and all the points of the four rounds count. Regulations include an increasing scoring scheme that will reach its maximum in Sarno (I) on March 24th. KZ2 will join the three categories that opened the series in Adria in occasion of the next round to be held in Lonato (I) on February 24th. This is going to be the first appointment of the season for KZ2 in the WSK calendar.
TRAVISANUTTO ON TOP IN OK.
The first classification leader of OK in Adria was the Scot Dexter Patterson (KR-Iame-Bridgestone), who was first at the end of qualifying heats. The Dutch drivers Kas Haverkort (CRG-TM) and Dilano Van T’Hoff (Exprit-TM) bounced back readily in Prefinals winning one each. The latter got past Patterson in the standings and reached the Final as the man to be beaten. He lost several positions instead and the Italian Lorenzo Travisanutto (KR-Iame) came out from the Final on top. These strong four drivers can aim to the classification lead: the 50 points scored in the Final launched Travisanutto on top of the charts at 64 points, but Haverkort is very close only 4 points short of him. Patterson is currently third at 50 and will have to fend off Van T’Hoff at 47. The Brit Luca Griggs (Exprit-Vortex) scored good points in the races on Sunday and is fifth at 30 points.
NEARLY FULL HAUL FOR CAMARA, ON TOP IN OKJ.
Rafael Camara (BirelArt-TM-Vega) collected nearly all the points up for grabs in Adria. The Brazilian was second after heats and then won Prefinal B getting the lead of the classification. The Dane Conrad Laursen (FA Kart-Vortex) was the best after qualifying but had been forced to lose some ground. The nice victory in the Final strengthened Camara’s lead and made him score a total of 89 points. The Dutch Robert De Haan (Energy-TM) is second at 55 points, as he ended both Sunday races in P2. Andrea Antonelli (KR-Iame) came close to taking the victory in the Final, but the Italian winner of Prefinal A did not take the win and now stands third at 44 points leading the Spanish driver Pepe Martì (Tony Kart-Vortex), who remained at 33 pts after not managing to pull a good result in the Final. The Dutch Thomas Ten Brinke (FA Kart-Vortex), on the third step of the podium in Adria, follows 5th at 29 pts.
AL DHAHERI LEADING THE 60 MINI LOT.
Kirill Kutskov (Energy-TM-Vega) got off on the right foot in 60 Mini and led the classification after heats and Prefinal A. The Russian did not confirm his shape in the Final, as the driver from Arab Emirates Rashid Al Dhaheri (Parolin-TM,) had the upper hand and he, therefore, is currently leading the classification at 65 points. The Belgian driver Ian Eyckmans (Parolin-TM), second in both races, follows Al Dhaheri at 53 points, leading Kutskov who scored 48 so far. The fourth place is currently occupied by the Italian Francesco Marenghi (Tony Kart-TM) who won Prefinal B and totalled 39 points. The Jamaican Alex Powell (Energy-TM) follows him due to the good placings in the Prefinal and Final.
