THE FINAL SPRINT OF THE WSK MASTER SERIES. Scores and standings: that's what the WSK Master Series is dealing with now, with only one round remaining. The racetrack in Precenicco (Udine - Italy), that hosted the third out of four rounds of the season, gives way to Castelletto di Branduzzo (Pavia - Italy), the venue - on 14th July - of the final event of 2013 season. It is time for the favorites and the long shots to decide their strategies.
VERSTAPPEN CLOSE TO THE VICTORY IN KZ2. Verstappen's steady - and winning - performances (he won in Precenicco too) allow the Dutch driver of CRG-TM-Bridgestone to arrive at the final round as leader of the standings in KZ2. It is hard to say who he will have to compete with in Castelletto. Many drivers battled against him during last race in the region of Friuli Venezia Giulia: among them the Italian Riccardo Negro (DR-TM-Bridgestone) and the Czech Patrik Hajek (Praga-Parilla-Bridgestone). In the current standings they follow Verstappen in this order. They won't be the only drivers who will compete for the final victory and for the top positions in the race. In fact, the gap between the five top drivers is very narrow: besides the first three, there are the Italian Paolo De Conto (Birel-TM-Bridgestone) and Charles Leclerc from Monaco. A great show is expected from the battle between these drivers.
BOCCOLACCI LEADS THE PACK IN KF. In KF, too, there is a driver with a wide lead: it is the French Dorian Boccolacci (Energy-TM-Vega). However, also in this category, the pack of pursuers is getting ready for a thrilling final battle. It couldn't be otherwise with drivers such as the Polish Karol Basz (Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega), the English Ben Barnicoat (ART GP-TM-Vega), the Canadian Lance Stroll (Zanardi-Parilla-Vega) and the Croatian Martin Kodric (FA Kart-Vortex-Vega) who, in this order and with very narrow gaps, follow the leader Boccolacci. Each one of them can boast at least one victory, either in a Pre-final or in a Final, in the previous three rounds. These are the premises for an eventful and thrilling weekend at the 7 Laghi Circuit of Castelletto.
LORANDI LEADER IN KFJ. The KF Junior Series sees the Italian Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart-Parilla-Vega) definitely on top of the standings: thanks to his win in Final 1 in Precenicco his leadership cannot be put in question. Behind him the battle is still hard: the English Lando Norris (FA Kart-Vortex-Vega), second, is closely pursued by the Russian Nikita Sitnikov (Tony Kart-BMB-Vega), just few points behind. Behind them, with a narrow gap, three drivers: the English Daniel Ticktum (FA Kart-Vortex-Vega), the Russian Nikita Mazepin (Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega) and the Canadian Parker Thompson (Energy-TM-Vega). They can play an important role in the final sprint. The three drivers in the following three positions will start from scratch in the weekend of Castelletto, given the very narrow gaps which separate them.
MARTINEZ TAKES OVER LEASDERSHIP IN THE 60 MINI. The double win - Pre-final and Final - achieved in Precenicco was fundamental for Eliseo Martinez: he managed to pass the Indian Kush Maini (Tony Kart-LKE-Le Cont) - now second - in the standings. The Swedish Rasmus Lindh (Tony Kart-LKE-Le Cont), the second half of season surprise, can still aim at the Series: he is the current third and could join the tussle for the title. In this category, too, there are three drivers just behind the first positions who could win against all predictions: the Italian Leonardo Marseglia (Top Kart-Parilla-Le Cont), the Malaysian Muizz Abdul Gafar and the Greek Konstantinos (both on Hero-LKE-Le Cont). The last word will be said on the 7 Laghi Circuit.
